More outside.
Less compromising.

Most outdoor kitchens corrode within a few seasons near the coast, get forced into spaces they don't quite fit, and end up looking like something from a big-box patio section. Ember was built for all three of those problems, with corrosion-proof, rust-proof European steel built for for direct salt air, module widths sized for runs other kitchens can't fill, and a design that reads as part of the home rather than parked next to it.

Contemporary minimal design

Tighter reveals, flush hardware, cleaner seams between modules. The design vocabulary belongs in an architectural spec, not a big-box outdoor section.

Narrower options for the 11.5-foot run, the loaded balcony, the corner that won't divide cleanly. Sized for the spaces other kitchens can't fill.

The leg adjustment sits inside the cabinet door, not buried under the unit. Open it, turn the dial, done. Even two years from now if the surface shifts.

Smart Outdoor Oven FAQs

A modular kitchen is different from a regular (traditional) kitchen in several key ways. Modular kitchens are made up of pre-fabricated units or modules—such as cabinets and shelves—that are manufactured in a factory and then assembled on-site. Aside from allowing for quick installation, this also offers the flexibility to easily replace or reconfigure components as needed.

In contrast, regular kitchens are built on-site by carpenters and tend to be more fixed in structure, which makes repairs or upgrades more time-consuming and labor-intensive.

Our Elysia line of modular outdoor kitchens is designed for quick, effortless assembly rather than arriving fully pre-assembled in one piece.

You can integrate signature Fontana wood-fired pizza ovens directly onto dedicated modules, and add most gas or charcoal grills using grill bays designed to fit standard built-in models. For convenience, the system supports most outdoor-rated refrigerators, wine or beverage coolers, and even ice makers, all of which fit into specialized fridge or beverage station modules.
You can easily add a sink-and-faucet setup with Fontana’s plumb-ready sink module, and the system includes cutouts and access for utilities like gas, water, and electricity. Additional upgrades such as trash pull-out cabinets, storage drawers, cutting board inserts, and electrical outlets for small appliances can also be integrated easily into the unit.

Modular outdoor kitchens are made up of individual components—grill units, prep stations, storage, sinks, etc.—that can be mixed and matched to fit your space and cooking needs. You can start with a basic setup and expand over time, or rearrange components as your lifestyle evolves.

The amount of time needed to set up your modular kitchen will depend on the number of pieces in your layout. Each modular section should take about an hour.

You do not need to hire a professional to help install your modular kitchen! These kitchens are made to be a great DIY project that can be completed in a weekend. If, however, you would prefer to hire someone to help, there are very simple step-by-step instructions and videos available for each section. We can also connect you with a certified installer if you prefer, and in select locations, we provide installation services ourselves.

Yes. One of the key advantages of Fontana modular outdoor kitchens is their reconfigurability. If you choose Fontana’s Neolith countertops, each piece is cut to match its specific module—so you can rearrange your layout at any time without affecting the fit. However, if you use a custom countertop, the layout can still be changed, but the top would need to be removed and refabricated to match the new configuration.

While you have the ability to have a permanent custom countertop installed onto a Fontana kitchen, it does limit your ability to customize it over time.

Always use a high-quality, weather-resistant cover when your outdoor kitchen BBQ grill is not in use, even if it’s located under a roof. Regular cleaning is important—you should wipe down grates, burners, and surfaces after use to prevent corrosion and grease buildup, and periodically deep-clean the interior. Stainless steel components should be treated with polish or a protective spray to prevent rust, especially in coastal or humid environments.

Yes, but it will need to be leveled using the module's feet to accommodate the difference in floor level.

Gas lines are run through "windows" located in the top corners of each of the modules for ease of access and running of both gas and electrical lines.

To clean and maintain Fontana outdoor kitchen cabinets, it’s important to regularly wipe down all surfaces with a soft cloth and mild soap diluted in warm water, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive tools that could damage the powder-coated or stainless steel finish. After grilling, promptly remove any grease splatters using a degreaser or baking soda paste for tougher stains.

The outdoor kitchen sink module by Fontana comes preconfigured with rear and bottom cutouts for the hose, drain, and electrical cords if needed, allowing you to connect to hot and cold water if desired.

Our modular outdoor kitchen systems are designed to accommodate our own premium wood- and gas-fired pizza ovens, such as the Margherita and Mangiafuoco, and Volta models. These ovens fit into dedicated modules within the Elysia lineup, allowing for integration with your existing outdoor pizza oven kitchen setup. The modular design ensures proper ventilation, utility access, and sturdy support, which makes it easy to combine a pizza oven with features such as grills and sinks.

The Elysia outdoor kitchen modules are designed to enable both wood- and gas-fired ovens to connect to propane or natural gas or use the bottom cabinet of the unit for wood storage.

If you love to cook, enjoy the outdoors, and want to entertain, then the amount of use you will get out of an outdoor kitchen will absolutely be worth the investment. The ability to have everything in one place, rather than running back and forth into the house, is a total game-changer. It allows you to craft memorable culinary experiences where every meal becomes a celebration and every gathering creates lasting memories in the Italian tradition of convivialità.

A luxury outdoor kitchen does not need a roof! A roof would certainly help to protect your kitchen and appliances from the elements, but it is not necessary. Your appliances can be covered when not in use, and the modular kitchen itself is made for use in extreme climates.

Fontana outdoor kitchens are made to withstand extreme weather conditions. The galvannealed steel material is rustproof, and the dual powder coating on the interior and exterior protects the units from rain, snow, heat, or cold.

To help you get started in your modular outdoor kitchen journey, we have five preconfigured designs for you to explore. From there, you can customize your design as you'd like. You also have the option to start a design from scratch using our design tools.
