Italian-Style Ricotta Board Recipe
Butter boards were one of 2022's biggest culinary creations to go viral from TikTok to Pintrest. Naturally new bases and variations on the easy entertaining app popped up including takes using hummus, labneh, and more. And! With the Super Bowl this Sunday, we whipped up our own version inspired by Fontana Forni's Italian heritage. It's a simple and quick finger-food that can elevate your tailgate. Mangia!
Supplies:
- Fontana Forni USA oven
- Infrared thermometer
- Two baking sheet pans
- Serving board
- Chopping knife
Ingredients:
- 1 container of ricotta or whipped cream cheese
- 1 container of sun-dried tomatoes (in olive oil)
- Pesto
- Pine nuts
- 1 rustic, crusty baguette
- Red pepper flakes
- Salt
- Olive oil
Directions:
1.) Preheat oven to about 400°F.
2.) While preheating, slice baguette into thin slices.
3.) Place on a flat sheet pan and drizzle slices with olive oil. Place in the oven until browned to your liking.
4.) Toast the pine nuts in a flat sheet pan until the oils start to come out and begin browning.
5.) For the board, remove the ricotta or whipped cream cheese from the container and evenly spread onto your board.
6.) Take the pesto and evenly coat the top.
7.) Chop up the sun-dried tomatoes and then sprinkle across the entirety of the spread.
8.) Top with a generous amount of toasted pine nuts.
9.) Drizzle with olive oil, a dash of red pepper flakes, and salt to taste. You can also add fresh basil or other herbs.
