Don't be fooled. Introduced in 1978 by the Fontana family, our original portable wood-burning oven is still used across Italy. Today, it remains one of our best-selling ovens because it combines the beauty of Italian design with versatility and functionality.
Use our Gusto oven to prepare brick-oven pizza, bread, roasts, chicken, and more! With this classic, there are no limits — if you can imagine it, you can cook it to perfection using the Gusto.
Chimney and chimney cap may vary due to recent design updates. See specifications PDF in Product Specs for the previous design.
Since 1978, our Italian master craftsmen have held themselves to the most exacting standards of quality construction. They pride themselves on building the most robust, durable oven available. We know that there is no other oven on the market that combines quality, performance, convenience, craftsmanship, & durability the way a Fontana oven does.
Several brands on the market manufacture their ovens overseas using inexperienced laborers that tend to cut costs on materials and construction which results in a less durable & inferior performing product.
Fontana ovens are constructed using 2.5 millimeter 304 & 441 stainless steel, 12 centimeter thick insulation, and corrosion-resistant, powder-coated metal. Many other brands use lighter, cheaper materials, lower-grade steel, and synthetic insulation, affecting heat retention and durability.
Further, Fontana uses all continuous solid-weld construction, not the spot welding and screws you’ll find in many other ovens, which will peel, split, or break under duress of high temperatures.
We are proud to say, many of the first Fontana wood-fired ovens built in the late 1970's are still in use today.
